Watermelon tourmaline is a variety of concentrically color-zoned tourmaline with red interiors and green exteriors and is distinct from longitudinal bi-color or polychrome zonation. One of the most valuable properties of Watermelon Tourmaline is its ability to produce and hold an electric charge when heated, or physically stressed or squeezed.
